This region includes a variety of ecosystems, ranging from 1000 to 5000 meters above sea level. On this trip we can record about 22 species of endemic birds such as the Colombian chachalaca, Parker antbird and Brown-banded Antpitta. On this tour we can also enjoy the coffee culture, it is one of the largest coffee producing regions in the country and has beautiful landscapes.
Itinerary
After settling into our rooms, we can check out the hummingbird feeders where we can observe species such as: White-necked Jacobin, Green Hermit, Western Emerald, among others. Around the lodge, species of interest such as: Andean Motmot, Red-headed Barbet, Crimson-rumped Toucanet, Montane Foliage-gleaner.
Night Kiraikai Ecolodge
After breakfast we explore the ecolodge trails with cloud forest to record species of interest such as: Golden-olive Woodpecker, Parker's Antbird, Red-faced Spinetail, Russet-crowned Warbler, Black-capped Tanager, Golden Tanager.
After lunch we move to the Tinamu nature reserve, in the afternoon we can observe birds around the lodge to record species such as: Colombian Chachalaca, Green Hermit, Spot-breasted Woodpecker, Spectacled Parrotlet, Great Antshrike

In the early morning hours we will walk the trails of the nature reserve to see species such as: Parker's Antbird, Scaled Antpitta, Plain-brown Woodcreeper, Golden-collared Manakin, Golden-crowned Warbler, Streaked Saltator, Stripe-throated Hermit, Andean Motmot.
Night Tinamu lodge
This day we will have the chance to record some species of interest on other trails in the reserve: Spot-breasted Woodpecker, Moustached Puffbird, Striped Cuckoo, Yellow-headed Caracara, Colombian Chachalaca, Gray-headed Dove, Little tinamu, Cocoa Woodcreeper.
After lunch we will take the 2-hour transfer to the Rio Blanco nature reserve, a little above the city of Manizales, around the lodge there are banana and hummingbird feeders, you can record species of interest such as: Buff-tailed Coronet, White-bellied Woodstar, Long-tailed Sylph, Fawn-breasted Brilliant, Blue-winged Mountain-Tanager, Gray-browed Brushfinch, Buff-breasted Mountain-tanager.
Night in Rio Blanco
IN the morning we went to visit the troughs of the Antpittas show where we saw: Bicolored Antpitta, Brown-banded Antpitta, Chestnut-crowned Antpitta and Slate-Colored Antpitta.
We continue walking up the road where we find mixed flocks with species such as Capped conebill, Gray-hooded Bush-tanager, Masked Saltator, Superciliared hemispingus, Black-billed mountain-tanager, Golden-fronted Redstart, grass-green tanager, A little further up the hike we registered Rufous-spinetail, Sharpe`s wren, mountain wren and Ocellated Tapaculo.
Night in Rio Blanco
This day we will explore some trails that are in the lower part of the natural reserve to find different bird species, among which we can mention: Rufous-breasted Hermit, Speckled Hummingbird, Masked Trogon, Golden-plumed Parakeet, Streaked Tuftedcheek, Superciliaried Hemispingus, Gray-hooded Bush Tanager.
Night in Rio Blanco
We will leave the Rio Blanco Nature Reserve at 5 am, make the first stop at La Esperanza Restaurant (3400 masl) to have a hot coca tea, a few kilometers above we can see some individuals of Plain-colored seedeater, Scarlet-bellied mountain -Tanager and Blue-black Conebill, then we continue climbing the mountain until “Brisas” sector, entrance of the Los Nevados National National Park (4100 masl), where we explore around to observe species such as Plumbeous Sierra-finch, Tawny Antpitta, Andean-tit Spinetail and the famous Buffy Helmetcrest, in the down to the Termanles del Ruiz Hotel we can record Sedge wren, Viridian Metaltail, Stout-billed Cinclodes and Brown-backed Chat-tyrant.
In the afternoon hours in the surroundings of the Termales del Ruiz hotel, we can register the species of hummingbirds in the feeders Shining Sunbeam, Buff-winged Starfrontlet, Rainbow-bearded Thornbill, Great Sapphirewing and Golden- Breasted Puffleg, in addition to the trails we find several mixed flocks where we register species such as Hooded mountain-tanager, Scarlet-bellied Mountain-tanager, Pale-naped Brushfinch, Paramo Tapaculo, Masked Flowerpercer and White-banded Tyrannulet.

In the morning hours we can explore the road below the hotel to record bird species such as: Paramo Tapaculo, Pale-naped Brushfinch, Lacrimose Mountain Tanager, Scarlet-bellied Mountain Tanager, Glossy Flowerpiercer, Masked Flowerpiercer.
