The first free town in America, became famous in the 70s, thanks to the battles of Antonio Cervantes, better known as “Kid Pambele”, who placed this town of fighters on the world map, who hide in their lands the entire legacy of free Africa. Palenque, the first free town in America, gives us the story of the independence of the enslaved from within, having as its protagonist Benkos Bioho, who was dismembered in the streets of the historic center of Cartagena for freeing his people, an event that started the black revolution.
